GM-Holdens Magazines
"People" was issued as a monthly when it started in 1947. Over time, it became a bi-monthly with occasional special editions, then a quarterly (nominally in March, June, September and December). This collection is now complete.
"Pointers" was a series of publications for Dealers, issued monthly by GM/GM-H to Dealer's and their Sales staff from 1934 until mid-1980's. They were not issued to the public, and so are more difficult to find.
A publication of the National Automotive Service Company (NASCO) to provide information to Dealers and others about genuine Holden parts and accessories, plus detail newly released Service fixes for field problems.
Up Front Magazine was supplied to Holden Dealers, customers and suppliers, nominally bi-monthly, then quarterly. It replaced to some extent the Pointers magazine (which was discontinued in 1980) as a communication with Dealers, except that Up Front was intended to also be read by customers and suppliers, whereas Pointers was confidential to Dealers only.
This was a commercially available magazine, which was provided free of cost to many employees, although the cover price was $6.95.
An advertising paper designed to be handed out to the public at Motor Shows.
The Cobbers Club was formed to support and send comforts to Holden employees who joined the Armed Forces.
The "Comforts for Cobbers" Club was registered in July 1940, as a Patriotic Fund, with the objectives to send comforts to former employees of the Company serving in the Forces, and where found necessary after proper investigation, to provide relief to their dependents; and finally, to render some assistance towards the rehabilitation of the man himself." There were 565 "Cobbers" on the roll call.
